PNW AMCA 2010 RULES

MICRO CAR ASSOCIATION (A.M.C.A.)

These rules are for the Pacific Northwest American Micro Car Association (PNW AMCA) and are not superseded by any other rules.
RACING RULES
1. Profanity or abusive language will not be tolerated. The race director will enforce this rule.
2. Repair on cars are allowed during the race but must be done when track power is on. When the track power is off no work is allowed on cars.
3. Cars must remain at the track during lane changes. Exceptions; when car is already in the pit area.
4. A racer may check car, straighten guide, straighten body, replace braid and replace or push in pins during lane changes. No other work is allowed.
5. Track calls:
1. Braid up
2. Power failure (one or all lanes)
3. Debris in slot
4. Unmarshalable car
5. Lap counter or track equipment failure
6. Braid may be reset and bodies straightened during track calls - no other work allowed.
6. If you race, you must turn marshal!
GENERAL RULES
Bodies:
1. All cars must resemble full sized race cars with three numbers and a scale three dimensional painted interior with driver. Parma #808 interior recommended.
2. All cars must be painted so that the chassis is not visible. Wheel wells front and rear must remain clear or cut out. Exception; when real car raced with rear wheel skirts.
3. No additional airfoils allowed unless a picture is provided to show that the real car raced in that configuration.
4. The following “Ultimate” G.T.P. scale bodies allowed:
Outisight:Mercedes 066i, Bentlee 068, Cadillac 067i, Parma: Magnum 70505, JK: ULT Peugeot 70141, BPA:BMW, Porsche, Bentley
5. The following Low Down force body are legal for 1/24th Euro when run
Red Fox Accra, Audi R10, Audi R-8C or new 09 coupe,Lola C, Caddy 05, Bentley
The bodies listed above ARE legal for PNW AMCA races.
All new bodies must be approved by PNW AMCA in the future.
Motors:
Motor may be notched for axle clearance.
Width:
No car may exceed 3.25 inches excluding body pins.
Clearance:
1. Gear must be level or above chassis.
2. No other restrictions.
Wheels:
1. All tires must be black in color.
2. Front wheels may be mounted on bodies.
3. Any width front wheels allowed, unless otherwise noted.
Guide:
All classes must use only one guide.
Wires:
All classes may use "earring clips" to secure lead wires.
Gears:
Open.
Lead:
Lead may be used to ballast cars.
CLASS RULES
1/24 LMP
Motors:
1. Only JK “Falcon” or Slick-7 motor is allowed.
2. No modifications are allowed.
3. Motor may be soldered into chassis.
Chassis
1. Only mass-produced 4” "Flexi" style chassis allowed.
2. Pin tubes may be added and chassis may be braced.
3. Only bushings allowed - no ball bearings.
4. Pan movement may be increased or restricted.
5. Front wheel towers may be trimmed for lead wire clearance. Front axle is not required.
6. Front wheels must be at least 1/2 inch (.500") diameter.
7. light-weight pans allowed.
8. Rear tire width may not exceed .810".
9. No other modifications allowed.
Bodies:
Only JK GT1 and Prototype LMP bodies are allowed for amateur racing.
1/24 Group 10 GTP
Motors:
1. Any production Group 10 C-Can motor is allowed.
2. Armature must be a tagged Challenger, Contender, or Sportsman.
3. All armatures must have a minimum stack length of .440”.
4. Armature must have a minimum diameter of .510”.
5. Armature may be reconditioned.
6. Any manufacturer's armatures or magnets may be interchanged with any manufacturer's set-ups.
7. Magnet clips are not required.
8. Shunt wires and insulation is allowed.
9. Magnets may be glued and honed.
10. Can bushing may be replaced with a ball bearing.
11. Motor may be soldered into the chassis.
Chassis:
1. Only mass-produced 4” "Flexi" style chassis allowed.
2. Pin tubes may be added and chassis may be braced.
3. Only bushings allowed - no ball bearings.
4. Pan movement may be increased or restricted.

1/24 GT-12
Motors:
1. Any C-Can Group 12 motor is allowed.
2. Armature must be tagged as a G-12 and have a minimum diameter of .510".
3. Any manufacturer's armatures or magnets may be interchanged with any manufacturer's set-ups.
No International 15 magnets allowed.
4. Magnet clips are not required.
5. Shunt wires and insulation allowed.
6. Can bushing may be replaced with a ball bearing.
7. Magnets may be glued and honed.
8. Motors may be soldered into chassis.
Chassis:
1. Any chassis retailing for no more than $50.00 is allowed.
2. Chassis may be re soldered.
3. Only bushings allowed - no ball bearings.
4. No part of chassis may be removed except front uprights.
5. Front axle is not required.
6. Pan movement may be increased or restricted.
7. Chassis may be braced.
8. Front wheels must be at least 1/2 inch (.500") diameter.
9. Rear axle vertical location may be changed.
10. Rear tire width may not exceed .810".

Motors:
Open
Front Wheels:
Must be minimum 5/8" (.625") diameter.
