PNW AMCA 2012 RULES
PACIFIC NORTHWEST AMERICAN MICRO CAR ASSOCIATION (A.M.C.A.)
These rules are for the Pacific Northwest American Micro Car Association (PNW AMCA) and are not superseded by any other rules.
RACING RULES
- Profanity or abusive language will not be tolerated. The race director will enforce this rule. See Penalties
- Repair on cars is allowed during the race except when running in a round robin race where a driver is occupying a sit-out position.
- Fluids of any kind are not allowed over the track surface
- Track calls:
- Braid up
- Power failure (one or all lanes)
- Debris in slot
- Unmarshalable car
- Lap counter or track equipment failure
- Rider (Car in other than assigned lane)
- Braid may be reset and bodies straightened during track calls. Track calls are NOT work breaks
- If you race, you must turn marshal! Turn marshals may be assigned to corners by the Race Director
- Lane Change Cards will be required for all racers (2012 Change)
PENALTIES
- Failure to follow any results may result in
- First Infraction: A Verbal Warning
- Second Infraction: 5 Lap Penalty
- Repeated Infractions: Disqualification
The Race director has final discretion and authority over penalties.
GENERAL RULES
Bodies:
- All cars must resemble full sized race cars with three numbers and a scale three dimensional painted interior with driver.
- All cars must be painted so that the chassis is not visible. Wheel wells front and rear must remain clear or cut out. Exception; when real car raced with rear wheel skirts.
- No additional airfoils allowed unless a picture is provided to show that the real car raced in that configuration.
- All new bodies must be approved by PNW AMCA.
Motors:
- Motor may be notched for axle clearance.
Width:
- 1/24 Classes: No car may exceed 3.25 inches excluding body pins.
- 1/32 Classes: No car may exceed 2.56 inches excluding body pins.
Clearance:
- Gear must be level or above chassis.
- No other restrictions.
Wheels:
- All tires must be black in color.
- Front wheels may be mounted on bodies.
- Any width front wheels allowed, unless otherwise noted.
Guide:
- All classes must use only one guide.
Wires:
- All classes may use "earring clips" to secure lead wires.
Gears:
Lead:
- Lead may be used to ballast cars.
1/32 GTP
Motors:
- Only JK “Falcon” or JK "Hawk 7"
- No modifications are allowed.
- Motor may be soldered into chassis.
Chassis:
- Only JK 1/32 Chassis #HC1132 allowed.
- Single piece replacement center section is allowed
- Pin tubes may be added and chassis may be braced.
- Only bushings allowed - no ball bearings.
- Pan movement may be increased or restricted.
- Front wheel towers may be trimmed for lead wire clearance. Front axle is not required.
- Front wheels must be at least 1/2 inch (.500") diameter.
- light-weight pans allowed.
- Rear tire width may not exceed .810".
- No other modifications allowed.
Bodies:

1/24 LMP
Motors:
- Only JK “Falcon”, JK "Hawk 7" or Slick-7 motor is allowed.
- No modifications are allowed.
- Motor may be soldered into chassis.
Chassis:
- Only mass-produced 4” "Flexi" style chassis allowed.
- Pin tubes may be added and chassis may be braced.
- Only bushings allowed - no ball bearings.
- Pan movement may be increased or restricted.
- Front wheel towers may be trimmed for lead wire clearance. Front axle is not required.
- Front wheels must be at least 1/2 inch (.500") diameter.
- light-weight pans allowed.
- Rear tire width may not exceed .810".
- No other modifications allowed.
Bodies:

Group 10
Motors:
- Any production Group 10 C-Can motor is allowed.
- Armature must be a tagged Challenger, Contender, S16C, SWasp or Sportsman.
- All armatures must have a minimum stack length of .440”.
- Armature must have a minimum diameter of .510”.Armature may be reconditioned.
- Any manufacturer's armatures or magnets may be interchanged with any manufacturer's set-ups.
- Magnet clips are not required.
- Shunt wires and insulation is allowed.
- Magnets may be glued and honed.
- Can bushing may be replaced with a ball bearing.
- Motor may be soldered into the chassis.
Chassis:
- Only mass-produced 4” "Flexi" style chassis allowed.Pin tubes may be added and chassis may be braced.

GT-12
Motors:
- Any C-Can Group 12 motor is allowed.
- Armature must be tagged as a G-12 and have a minimum diameter of .510".
- Any manufacturer's armatures or magnets may be interchanged with any manufacturer's set-ups.
- No International 15 magnets allowed.
- Magnet clips are not required.
- Shunt wires and insulation allowed.
- Can bushing may be replaced with a ball bearing.
- Magnets may be glued and honed.
- Motors may be soldered into chassis.
Chassis:
- Any chassis retailing for no more than $63.81 US is allowed.
- Chassis may be re soldered.
- Axle ball bearings are allowed
- No part of chassis may be removed except front uprights.
- Front axle is not required.
- Pan movement may be increased or restricted.
- Chassis may be braced.
- Front wheels must be at least 1/2 inch (.500") diameter.
- Rear axle vertical location may be changed.
- Rear tire width may not exceed .810".
