Friday Night Stock Car Results 03/27/2026

The lights went out at the legendary (and slightly questionably wired) TWISTER circuit Friday night, and what followed can only be described as a full-contact ballet of tiny cars, big egos, and at least one driver emotionally defeated by the color orange.

🏁 Nascar Amateur Race Report (aka “Chaos With Training Wheels”)

Right out of the gate, Owen Yarbrough decided subtlety was overrated and simply won everything, laying down a commanding 275 laps like he had somewhere better to be. Rumor has it his car was powered by confidence and mild intimidation.

Hot on his heels was John Kolman, who clocked the fastest lap of the entire amateur field at 4.856, proving that while he may not have won, he definitely scared Owen at least once. Possibly twice. John also dominated the mysterious “Purple Lane,” which experts agree is either very fast or slightly haunted.

David Bauder cruised into third with a respectable 266.33 laps, maintaining the kind of consistency that says, “I came here to race, not to dramatically de-slot every three minutes.”

Then came the midfield mayhem:

  • Robert Hanlen and Bryan Williamson had what can only be described as a polite duel, separated by just over 3 laps—basically the slot car equivalent of a passive-aggressive email exchange.
  • Jim Bowes deserves a special award for fastest lap of the night (4.576) but somehow finishing 6th. That’s like owning a Ferrari and using it exclusively to drive to the mailbox.
  • Jack Granchi kept things steady in 7th, while
  • Keith Bare… well… Keith completed 186 laps, which historians are calling “a character-building experience.” His 4.747 best lap proves the speed was there—it just took frequent breaks.

🏆 Nascar Expert Race Report (aka “Now It Gets Serious… Supposedly”)

If the Amateur race was chaos, the Expert race was slightly faster chaos with better vocabulary.

Aaron Rothstein absolutely obliterated the field with 304.65 laps, becoming the only driver to break the 300 mark and possibly bending space-time in the process. His 4.545 best lap suggests his car may have briefly achieved flight.

Behind him, Piper Clark secured 2nd with 293.80 laps, proving that the Orange Lane is either incredibly fast or secretly sponsored by rocket fuel. Piper stuck to it like it was the last slice of pizza.

Mike Wilson grabbed 3rd with 288.52 laps, just ahead of Doug Yarbrough—and when we say “just ahead,” we mean by a microscopic 0.17 laps, which is roughly the distance of a dramatic gasp.

Doug, meanwhile, posted a quicker best lap than Mike (4.631 vs 4.662), meaning this rivalry will absolutely continue, possibly in the parking lot.

Chris Alden held down 5th with a solid run, while Shawn Sweeney rounded out the field in 6th, bravely navigating the Blue Lane and whatever emotional journey comes with finishing 40 laps behind the leader.

🎤 Post-Race Takeaways

  • The Orange Lane is clearly overpowered and should be investigated for illegal caffeine use.
  • Fastest laps do not guarantee victory—just ask Jim Bowes, who is still explaining this to himself.
  • The Yarbrough family came prepared: Owen wins Amateur, Doug nearly podiums Expert. Thanksgiving must be unbearable.
  • Everyone survived the TWISTER, which is impressive given its name suggests at least one small-scale natural disaster.
