NWCC Scale Series Race #1 Race Report

NWCC 2018 LMP Amateur Podium October 20, 2018
L-R: Keith Bare 2nd, Mike Wilson 1st, Piper Clark 3rd
Amateur LMP was won by Mike Wilson this month. He was able to hold off a hard charging Keith Bare by just 2 laps. Finishing in the final podium spot was Piper Clark who has very little track time with these cars. 7 amateurs made up this race. Thank you to each participant who came out and raced!! It is good to see a nearly full field of cars in this class.

L-R: Chris Alden 2nd, Tim Burgess 1st, Aaron Roed 3rd

Expert LMP was won by Tim Burgess. He out drove a really tight field to win the race by a lap. Myself, and Chris Alden had a great battle for second place. Chris was able to get me by a bit at the end. I finished in third.

DTM- This is a new class for everyone this year. Our first race had a good mix of amateur and expert racers. As expected everyone is still dialing in their cars. I would expect laps times, and totals to only go up from here. I won the race ahead of Len Strand, and Chris Alden.

NWCC 2018 GT12 Podium October 20, 2018
L-R: Tim Burgess 2nd, Aaron Roed 1st, Leonard Strand 3rd

Gt 12 had a new racer this month. Keith Bare made the jump to this class. Getting a feel for these cars is tough, Keith managed to run all 8 segments and finished a very respectable 5th place. Me and Timmy had a good race for the lead. Timmy’s a bulldog there, you have to battle him for a full 8 segments. I managed to stay ahead and win ahead of Tim, and Leonard.

1/24 Eurosport saw Leonard Strand set fast time at a 3.36. Three racers then timed in all at 3.41. The field of 6 welcomed new racer to this class David Parsons who had a solid race going until a mechanical issue ended his race. Hopefully Dave races with us some more in the future. I won ahead of Leonard, and Jim Alden.
