Weekly Stock Car Race Report 11/14/2025
Expert Division (08:11)
The Expert class featured eight drivers, and showed a wide range of pace — from commanding leader efforts to solid mid-field battles.

Top of the podium:
- 1st: Aaron Rothstein — He turned an impressive 297.25 laps and posted the best lap of the day at 4.670 s, running in the Orange lane. His dominance was clear from the jump. Pacific Slot Car Raceways
- 2nd: Doug Yarbrough — Just behind with 294.33 laps and a best lap of 4.725 s in the Yellow lane. Very close to Rothstein in total laps, showing strong consistency. Pacific Slot Car Raceways
- 3rd: Jim Radford — With 294.13 laps and a best of 4.700 s (Yellow lane). His best lap was slightly quicker than Yarbrough’s, but he fell just short in total laps. Pacific Slot Car Raceways
Other notable performances:
- 4th: Mike Wilson – 290 laps, best lap 4.716 s (Yellow lane). He remained in striking range but couldn’t quite close the gap to the top three. Pacific Slot Car Raceways
- 5th: Shawn Sweeney – 281.60 laps, best of 4.849 s (Black lane). A solid run, though he lagged behind on overall pace. Pacific Slot Car Raceways
- 6th: Piper Clark – 280.16 laps, best 4.765 s (Yellow lane). Nearly matched Sweeney’s total but just edged behind in performance. Pacific Slot Car Raceways
- 7th: Leonard Strand – 272.36 laps, best 4.937 s (Green lane). The pace dropped here and the best lap time indicates more struggles on individual laps. Pacific Slot Car Raceways
- 8th: Bill Clemans – 203 laps, best 4.794 s (Yellow lane). A significantly lower total laps than the rest of the field—something obviously impacted his result. Pacific Slot Car Raceways
Takeaway:
The top three were tightly grouped in terms of total laps, and Rothstein’s best lap and consistency secured his win. The mid-pack exhibited good racing, but a noticeable drop in laps for the bottom drivers shows how challenging the track pace can be.

Amateur Division (07:11)
Earlier in the morning, the Amateur division took to the track and delivered its own drama and pace spread across nine entrants.
Top finishers:
- 1st: Owen Yarbrough – Leading the class with 267.83 laps and a best lap of 4.809 s (Yellow lane). A strong performance that puts him clearly ahead of the rest. Pacific Slot Car Raceways
- 2nd: David Bauder – 262.50 laps, best lap 5.010 s (Orange lane). He stayed within striking distance but his best lap lacked a little compared to the winner. Pacific Slot Car Raceways
- 3rd: Jack Granchi – 252.81 laps, best lap 5.283 s (Orange lane). A solid podium finish, though a noticeable step down from the top two in lap times. Pacific Slot Car Raceways
- 4th: Evan Yarbrough – 251.42 laps, best lap 5.117 s (Orange lane). Closely behind Granchi, but a few laps shy in total. Pacific Slot Car Raceways
Mid-to-lower group:
- 5th: Bryan Willamson – 246.99 laps, best lap 5.302 s (Yellow). Pacific Slot Car Raceways
- 6th: John Kolman – 242.19 laps, best lap 5.052 s (Blue lane). Interestingly, Kolman’s best lap was among the quicker ones except a few, but he still finished 6th in total laps. Pacific Slot Car Raceways
- 7th: Mike Strong – 225.17 laps, best lap 5.513 s (Orange lane). A bigger gap to the leaders here. Pacific Slot Car Raceways
- 8th: Keith Bare – 207.75 laps, best lap 5.123 s (Purple lane). Despite a respectable best lap time, his total laps were significantly lower, which suggests inconsistent segments. Pacific Slot Car Raceways
- 9th: Bryson Keating – 198.05 laps, best lap 5.424 s (Green lane). The lowest total in this race and perhaps still building.
Takeaway:
The Amateur division showed strong performances at the top, especially from Owen Yarbrough who posted a lap time competitive with Expert-level bests. The spread of best lap times suggests that while the top drivers pushed hard, the middle and lower field still have pace gaps or consistency issues to close.
Overall Observations & Themes
- The fastest lap in the Expert division (4.670 s) compares favorably against the best in the Amateur class (4.809 s). That ~0.14 second gap in best lap time underscores the difference in pace at the top of each class.
- In both divisions, lane choice appears to have mattered – many of the winners or top finishers had best laps in Orange or Yellow lanes.
- Consistency across the entire run (total laps) proved just as important as single-lap pace. For example, in the Expert class Jim Radford’s best lap was actually slightly faster than Doug Yarbrough’s, yet Radford placed 3rd because his total laps were marginally lower.
- For those in the mid and lower fields, focus on reducing mistakes and improving consistency could close the gap to the front.
