RETRO Results Feb 9, Hansen shatters the 5 second barrier

Tom Hansen local slot car legend and two time world record holder breaks the 5.0 second mark qualifying in at 4.963, Congratulations Tom!

Light turnout for Formula-1 forced us to run an a/b main of 3 racers each. In the end it was Tom Hansen with the win having made 250 laps, in 2nd place was Dennis Cook 2 laps back at 248 and third was Tim Burgess with 237 having lost a tire early on

In Can-Am we had a field of 8, but without a few extra bystanders to marshall we again split into A/B mains. When my hero Tom Hansen offered me up a car to race that he had just built I jumped at the opportunity, qualifying into the B main setting the bar high at 264 laps, a lap shy of the track record. The challenge was answered by Tim Burgess winning the race with 266 laps with Tom Hansen at 265. Congratulations to Tim Burgess for the new lap total record in Can-Am and thanks to Tom for the great handling ride!
