Friday Night Nascar Results 4/27

11 racers made their way to the track for some Friday night Nascar racing. Still down a few racers as of late, hopefully they will be back soon.

The amateur race had 5 entries. It was Frank Robertson taking an early lead, and capitalizing on a few rare mistakes from David Parsons. Once David settled in he was able to gain back the ground he had lost early on and took over the lead at the end of the 5th segment. Segments 6 and 7 featured numerous lead changes between the 2 racers setting up for an exciting 8th segment. As racing sometimes goes, Frank didn’t have much go his way in the last segment, and David ran a solid last segment to take the win. Frank finished second ahead of Jim Nelson.

The expert group lined up 6 racers, including “The King” Dale Olive making a return to racing. Lee Gilbert led from the start and was never really challenged for the lead running an impressive 300 laps to cruise to victory. Myself, and Len Strand had a good race for second place throughout the entire race. I was able to put a little distance on Len in the final 2 segments and finished second. Lenny held onto 3rd.

As impressive as Lee’s run was, I think Fred Klinger had the race of the night. His lap total ended up solidly in the 280’s! His car was working really well, and he drove an outstanding race.

Racing as always starts at 7pm on Friday nights.
