Taking the win by a single lap was Mike Wilson, followed by Jim Nelson and less than 4 laps back making the podium once again was Piper Clark
Race Report by Aaron Roed
6 amateur racers lined up for some Friday night Nascar racing. Jumping out to the early lead was Robert Hanlen, but it was short lived as Mike Wilson took the top spot after 2 segments. In a race that saw 4 lead changes, it came down to Mike Wilson, and Jim Nelson entering the final segment separated by just 1/3 of a lap. Piper Clark was just out of striking distance, finding herself 4 laps behind the leaders. Mike ran a strong final segment to win the race by nearly 2 laps over Mr. Nelson. Piper Clark held onto the final podium spot to finish a very competitive 3rd place.
Piper picked up quite a bit of speed this week, but lost a little bit of her consistency as she continues to grow as a racer. She did set a new personal distance record at 260 laps. Also setting a new personal distance record was Curtis Hardy. Curtis usually does his racing in a straight line, but is getting really good on the road course.
