JK Wide Indy Race Report 01/17/2026
The TWISTER delivered exactly what it promised: chaos, drama, and a whole lot of counting laps while wondering where the last one went.
Aaron Rothstein spun up a dominant performance, piling on 284.34 laps and basically daring the rest of the field to keep up. Smooth, fast, and annoyingly consistent, Aaron treated the race like a casual warm-up while everyone else was fighting for survival.
Doug Yarbrough was right there, racking up 281.32 laps and keeping the pressure on. Close enough to smell first place, but not quite close enough to steal it—still a rock-solid run from start to finish.
Piper Clark locked down third with 272.09 laps, driving smart and steady, avoiding the big disasters and letting others donate laps along the way.
Leonard Strand came in fourth at 269.41 laps, quietly grinding out lap after lap and proving that consistency beats hero moves—especially on the TWISTER.
David Bauder (265.34 laps) and Mike Wilson (264.87 laps) were separated by less than half a lap, which means at least one of them is still replaying “that one mistake” in their head.
Shawn Sweeney finished with 238.41 laps, followed closely by Keith Bare at 237.37 laps, both surviving the race with controllers intact and dignity mostly preserved.
Chris Alden logged 221.70 laps, Mike Strong followed with 207.07, and Robert Hanlen rounded out the field with 192.99 laps, bravely facing the TWISTER when it was clearly in a bad mood.
Final Thoughts:
Laps were gained, laps were lost, and some laps may still be rolling around the track somewhere. The TWISTER doesn’t care how fast you are—it only cares how many laps you can hang onto.
See you at the next one… bring extra laps just in case. 🏁😄
