Friday night we had 17 entries in our Nascar class. 9 amateurs lined up for the 1st race of the night, with 6 yr old Ashlyn Roed racing in her 1st race, and youngster Cristian Evans making a return to the raceway. Roman Ruiz jumped out to the early lead, followed by Mark Nelson, and Mark Kanzler. Midway through the race Roman had some mechanical issues and his lead had shrunk to 1 lap over Mark Nelson at the end of 5 segments. In the 7th segment Mark Kanzler had an issue with his car, and wife Sherri showing no mercy took full advantage to overtake the 3rd spot. Roman held on for the win, Mark Nelson, who is on the verge of winning one of these races finished second, and Sherri came home third.

8 experts came out to race on this fine night. Congratulations to 11 yr old Madison Roed,as she has joined the expert group. Qualifying was very tight, as the field was separated by just .16 of a second. The 2 Speedshop cars were at the top, with Dale Olive turning a 4.64 second lap, and Lee right behind at 4.66 seconds. When the race started Lee jumped out to the early lead followed by Dale, and Leonard Strand. Things stayed about the same until the 6th segment when Lee fell out of the race, and Aaron Roed found himself in the lead. There were multiple lead changes in the final 2 segments as each of the top 3 drivers had to overcome adversity. In the end it was ” The King” Dale Olive  taking the top spot, followed closely by Leonard, and Aaron, All 3 drivers finished on the same lap. Ross Korsky drove a consistent race to finish 4th, and Bill Clemans fought handling issues to finish 5th. Yet another night of close competitive racing in both divisions.
