Race Report

A night of sharp reactions and lane-by-lane strategy produced an exceptionally tight battle at the top of the standings, with only five points separating the podium finishers. In the end, Aaron Rothstein secured the win with a composed and consistent performance, clocking a 7.21 on the Orange lane and posting a strong 312.01 score. His 4.392 reaction metric—one of the sharpest of the event—proved to be the deciding factor that nudged him ahead of the chasing field.

Right on his heels, Piper Clark delivered a stellar run of 7.04 on the Blue lane, leveraging a nearly identical reaction metric (4.407) to earn 309.04 points and second place. Clark’s combination of pace and discipline kept the pressure high on Rothstein throughout the round.

Jim Radford rounded out the podium with a 7.22 on Orange, just a shade off the winning time. His 307.10 total kept him firmly in contention, marking this one of the closest three-way finishes of the season.

Just off the podium, Shawn Sweeney put down one of the quickest elapsed times of the entire field—a 6.21 on Blue—with a sharp 4.431 reaction. Despite his speed, the scoring margin placed him fourth, but the run reaffirmed him as one of the most consistently fast racers on race night.

The battle for the middle of the pack was equally fierce. Doug Yarbrough (7.37, 298.42) and Leonard Strand (7.191, 297.79) were separated by less than a single point, each pairing steady ETs with strong reaction numbers on Orange and Green lanes, respectively.

Further down, Chris Alden showed pace with a 6.27 but landed seventh due to a higher reaction metric. David Bauder and Keith Bare posted nearly identical point totals—272.53 and 272.09—with Bauder’s quicker ET nearly offset by Bare’s faster reaction. Their duel highlighted the fine margins that defined the night.

In the lower portion of the standings, Bryan Williamson and Mike Strong each laid down blistering raw speed—5.38 and 5.39—the fastest ETs of the event. However, both were hampered by reaction metrics in the low 5s, demonstrating how pure speed alone wasn’t enough to climb the rankings.

Rounding out the field, Bill Clemans delivered a respectable 7.19 but settled into 12th, while Robert Hanlen’s 6.04 and 244.11 points closed out the results.

Summary

This race showcased one of the tightest top-three battles in recent memory, with every fraction of a second—both on the throttle and at the tree—shaping the final order. Rothstein’s razor-sharp reaction and consistent Orange-lane execution carried the day, but the field behind him proved that no lead is ever safe. With ETs ranging from 7.3 to a stunning 5.38, the night delivered both precision and raw speed, setting the stage for an exciting battles ahead.
