Mike Wilson Wins Nascar Amateur Race

A good turnout of 7 amateur racers this week were greeted with a freshly glued track. New racer Joseph Johnson made his first start this week and did a terrific job. I am sure the teenager will continue to pick up slot car racing quickly.

It was the Mike Wilson show this week, as he dominated the race winning by just over 11 laps. Jim Nelson finished in second place, just a few feet ahead of Curtis Hardy. Another racer who had a very solid race was Robert Hanlen. Robert hasn’t had much luck lately, but perhaps his strong 4th place run will be a catalyst to some wins in the near future.

Mike is starting to show some”race craft” out there, and will be a contender each and every week. I am certain Piper Clark will rebound from a tough race to put herself back in the mix. Nate Serdahl brought a fast car, but didn’t have too many things fall his way. What an exciting time to be a part of this amateur class!!
