Another Large Field Of Racers On Friday Night!

Friday night had 17 entries combined in the amateur and expert classes for the Friday night Nascar class. This is the most popular class at the track based on the number of entries, and it just keeps growing!
9 amateurs lined up for their main, and Sid Fugate would take the early lead. It wouldn’t last long as amapert Chris Alden took over the lead in the 2nd segment, but would be challenged hard all race by Jim Nelson for the top spot. Going into the final segment, 1 lap separated the two drivers, and they would finish running right next to each other ( Red and White). Chris was flawless in the final segment and took the win. Jim Nelson 2nd, and Gene Caldwell 3rd. Drag racer Tim Nelson ran a solid race and will soon be in the mix for some podiums.

Tom Hansen again was top qualifier this week at a 4.44, just off the track record of 4.43. Hansen would get the whole shot and lead the first 2 segments. Halfway through both Tom and Aaron were on pace to be at 300 laps or better. Aaron slipped past Tom in the middle part of the race and took the win. Hansen was 2nd, and Jim Radford finished 3rd.

Next Saturday is round 2 of series racing. Racing at 3pm, and we were done with 5 classes by 9:30. Friday night will be Nascar night as always, with the huge number of racers every Friday night you are always in a battle for position.
