Weekly Stock Car

Friday Night Nascar Results

12 racers this week were split randomly into 2 different mains. I like this format, and it wouldn’t bother me at all to use this format again sometime in the future. Normally classes are split into an amateur group, and an expert group. There is not much difference between the 2 groups most nights.

There was some really hard racing in the First main between myself and Bill Clemans. Anytime you can lock horns with a guy like Bill and race for a win is one of the main reasons I like slot car racing so much. I know he pushes me to run to the best of my ability, and I would like to think I push him a bit as well. I was able to win the race with 304 laps. Bill was second with 302 laps. Question was, would this lap total hold up?? We still had another main to go that was loaded with guys that could win the race.

Main #2 saw Tim Burgess, and David Parsons trade the lead a couple different times. Through the first 4 segments, Timmy had a perfect race going, and was just one lap off the overall lead. I stood there and watched as he did nothing more than just drive around the track and collect laps. Unfortunately he ran out of tire towards the end and faded some. I hope he found something else to tinker with this week, and brings back that exact same car, just with slightly taller tires. David Parsons went on to win his main. David is so close to winning a bunch of these races, it’s usually just 1 or 2 more times he is off the track than the race winner.
